Review: Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask

I love face masks and things of that nature and I've always had trouble with my face so I'm always looking for new products to use. It's safe to say that I was pretty freaking excited to get this product.

At first glance, it seems really thin and liquidy.  Considering it's a clay mask, I assumed it was going to be a bit thicker, but really that isn't a big deal.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that it didn't have a strong odor and the application process was really quick and easy.

And then it started to dry.  I don't know about anyone else, but to me it seemed to dry really fast. I kept it on for the recommended time of ten minutes and, honestly, I was really uncomfortable the entire time.  I should have removed it sooner, but I wanted to wait it out.

On the back of the product, it says to remove with tissues and, had I attempted to do it that way, I don't think it would have been an easy task. I took it off with a wet washcloth and still had a hard time.

It only got worse from there. After I completely removed it (keep in mind that I did not scrub my face. I wiped gently with the cloth) my face was really red and felt extremely irritated. I decided right then and there that I would never use this product again.

My face was so dry and itchy that I immediately applied lotion and went back about fifteen minutes later to reapply.  For the rest of the night my face was red, irritated, itchy and hot to the touch.

In my honest opinion, this is still a pretty cool product.  I can't blame it for what happened because I really believe that I had an allergic reaction to it. It just really took me by surprise because that rarely, almost never, happens.

I did pass this product along to a friend and I'm happy to say that she did enjoy it and that her experience with the Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask was a positive one.

Review & Unboxing: J'Adore VoxBox

I received all of these products for free from Influenster for review.

OVERVIEW
I was SO super excited when I got this box.  You guys have no idea. I've wanted one of these boxes since I first joined Influenster this past summer.  This box makes three that I've qualified for but, as of today, it's the only one I've ever gotten. Somehow the first two boxes that were sent to me (Dr. Scholl's and Brauns) got lost in the mail and I never received them.  I was super upset about this because I wanted them really badly, especially the Brauns.Thankfully, this one was actually delivered so I was freaking out with excitement.  :)

PRODUCTS & FIRST IMPRESSIONS
*Full reviews of each product will be posted at a later date.
Some reviewers also received a Vaseline Men Spray Lotion but this product was not in my box.

Hershey's Kisses ($5.29)
The first product I saw when I opened up my box was obviously the giant bag of Hershey's Kisses.  I can't even tell you how happy I was to see this bag of yummies.  Hershey's is my favorite chocolate and I love getting just the plain chocolate bars or a bag of Kisses to snack on.  I had just finished off the last bag that I had bought so the J'Adore box came just in time to replenish my stash.

Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask ($9.39)
I'm always interested in new face products and have always loved the process of using masks.  I rarely use them but I'm excited when I do get the chance.  I was super happy to see this in my box and couldn't wait to give it a try.

Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray ($9.99)
Oh, I was so freakin' excited to get this!  I've always had super long hair and it falls in the wavy category with quite a bit of frizz.  I've had super long hair for quite a while and kept it straightened all the time, though after I had my daughter, I almost stopped all together. I recently got my hair cut though and it pretty much always needs to be straightened after a wash for it to look decent. I'm really adamant about keeping my hair healthy and protected, so this was perfect for my life.

KISS Looks So Natural Lashes ($3.99)
I've only ever used false eyelashes twice before and one of those times was for Halloween.  Even though I'm not an avid wearer, I'm still pretty curious about them and would like to try them out.  That being said, I was super happy to get a good pair that wasn't made to accompany a costume.  :)

Red Rose Simply Indulgent Teas ($4.49)
I was really hoping that there would be tea in this box based on the questions I had to answer in the survey.  I'm a huge tea lover so I was pleasantly thrilled to open up the box and find some tea that I'd never had the chance to try.  I was super excited for the different flavors but a little disappointed that there were so many Caramel Creme and just a couple of the Lemon Chiffon.  Once I tasted the Caramel Creme, however, I couldn't complain. There was also a Red Rose coupon for $2.00 off a tea product.

FINAL THOUGHTS
I have to say that I was really happy with all of the products in the J'Adore VoxBox.  There wasn't really anything in the box that I wasn't happy to receive.  I've already tried all but one of the products and will be posting the reviews for each individual thing soon.
