Cover Reveal: Don't Let Me Fall by Briana Pacheco

Title: Don’t Let Me Fall
Author: Briana Pacheco
Release date: December 4th, 2014
Genre: New Adult

Book Description:

I don't want to be here.

When you lose the one person that was your whole life, you'll understand. For me, it was my best friend, Alice. We spent every second of every day together. We planned a life. I was actually living. I was happy.

Now, it's just gone.

And I'm still here. Lonely. A tatted up body with an empty soul.

Getting inside of my head won't be pretty. I'm warning you now that you won't like me. I hate people besides my family. I hate everything around me. I just want to be alone. And I HATE how Logan Mercer doesn't understand that. He's everywhere; getting inside of my head, kissing me when he shouldn't be, messing everything up, and trying to get me to open up. He's making me crazier than I already am. Why do I need to talk about my life? Why does he even care?

Why doesn't anyone understand that I don't want to get attached to people? I don't want to get fixed.

I want to be alone.

I want to be free.

I want to fly.

My name is Rebeckah Lennox and this is my story...of how I fell.

About the Author:
Briana Pacheco hates referring to herself in third person so let’s start off with I’m the author of the Enough Trilogy, Don’t Let Me Fall, and many more books to come in the future. I’m from Boston and a wannabe explorer so one day I’ll travel the world. So far,
that’s only happening when I write but I’m not giving up just yet. I love coffee, music and books, and I have an obsession with tattoos and accents. Sadly, I have neither so I make my characters have them instead. I’m an avid reader and if I’m not writing, you’ll find me with a book (or Kindle) in my hands. I love hearing from readers about anything so please don’t be shy and stalk me.
I love it!

GoodReads Summary:
All-access doesn't mean no problems.
The three Diamond sisters survived the summer in style after coming to live with their long-lost billionaire father. But making a place for themselves at their exclusive new Las Vegas private school is throwing them any number of gold-plated curves. Savannah's YouTube stardom turns into a Sweet Sixteen reality show extravaganza—with complimentary enemies on the side. Dangerous flirtations don't keep Peyton from a gamble that will risk far more than she planned to bet. And when Courtney and the sisters' archenemy, Madison, uncover two explosive secrets, it will rock even this town of glittering illusion—and turn their lives upside down all over again.
Sisterhood, first crushes, and scandalous secrets explode in book two of Michelle Madow's riveting series, The Secret Diamond Sisters.
Review:
I am so freakin' in love with this series!  I absolutely cannot get enough of Michelle Madow's characters and their lives.  It's just sooo good!

I was fortunate enough to get books one and two from the author before they were released and I can only hope I'm lucky enough to get the third.

In The Secret Diamond Sisters we were introduced to the sisters and all the crazy things that happened to them after finding out that they are the daughters of hotel billionaire, Adrian Diamond.  In Diamonds In The Rough, we head back to the Las Vega Strip to see what kind of drama they can get into next.  And boy is there drama!

I still say this series is like Gossip Girl, Vegas style and it definitely works!

Michelle Madow is an amazing writer and weaves such a crazy world of love, fame and money.  Her characters are thrown into this world and the result is beautiful chaos.  I love it so much and I absolutely cannot wait to find out what becomes of the Diamond sisters in the next installment.

Favorite Characters: Peyton and Jackson.

He seethes with raw power the first time I see him—pure menace and rippling muscles in shackles. He’s dangerous. He’s wild. He’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

So I hide behind my prim glasses and my book like I always do, because I have secrets too. Then he shows up in the prison writing class I have to teach, and he blows me away with his honesty. At night I can’t stop thinking about him in his cell.

But that’s the thing about an animal in a cage—you never know when he’ll bite. He might use you to escape. He might even pull you into a forest and hold a hand over your mouth so you can’t call for the cops. He might make you come so hard, you can’t think.

Releasing early 2015!20140703-111739-40659135.jpg

tag17Sexy, tattooed and inevitably dangerous. Memphis is all that and more… I live for the pain; it’s what drives me to keep moving. But there comes a time when one has to push the demons aside in order to survive. I thought I buried them deep. I thought I was ready to finally live. Until… my brother, Alex; he throws me into the fire—right into the place I could never control myself, the one place I never want to be again. When I put my hands on people, they get hurt. Things happen that bring me back to that night. The one that will forever torment me. I’m doing fine, keeping to myself in order to ensure no one gets hurt by me. Then along comes Lyric, and all I want to do is touch her, to put my hands in places that I know will only lead to her being crushed by me. She’s the rush that I crave. The darkest of poison running through my veins, killing me bit by bit; like a drug I can’t get enough of even though I’m almost down to my last breath. And being around her only hurts more, but what she doesn’t understand is that I welcome the pain; I get off on it, which in the end leaves me with the hardest decision of my life—one that might get us all killed…GOOTP CR tag19 “I thought I told you to stay upstairs? Dammit, Lyric.” His voice is thick and harsh as he fights to catch his breath. I swallow as he grabs my camera and takes it off from around my neck, setting it down onto oh his dresser. My treacherous eyes wander down to his stiff chest and abs, landing directly on the V of muscle leading down to his jeans. The little moist patch of brown hair, almost causes my mouth to water as I think about what it leads to. It’s barely there, but is enough to catch my attention. “I’m leaving,” I blurt out, unsure of how to act now that my resolve has crumbled. “I was coming to let you know. Now give me my camera so I can go.” He walks forward until I’m backed up against the wall, with his arms pinning me in. He inhales a deep breath and leans down so that his lips are just inches above mine. Our bodies aren’t touching, yet my stupid body is reacting as if we are. My breathing picks up as I smell his minty breath mixed with hard liquor as it brushes against my lips. “You like taking pictures of me, Lyric?” He presses his body a little closer, but still doesn’t touch me. Call me crazy, but my body is screaming for him to at this point. “I can take my clothes off right now and let you take as many pictures as you want as long as you promise to keep my jacket on. Is that what you want? Huh, Lyric? Because that is all I can do for you.” I fight to catch my breath before I place my hands on his sweaty chest and push him away. He hasn’t even touched me and I am so damn turned on that I can’t fight the wetness forming between my legs. Just the thought of his sweaty, naked body is insanely hot. Him offering to show it to me… I can’t even go there. I just need to get out of here. “Just because I like taking your picture, does not mean that I want to see you naked. It means that… just never mind. I don’t have to explain shit to you. I’m out of here.” I walk past him and reach for my camera, replacing the cap.Get Off On The Pain tag15New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author. Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

Review:
It took me freakin' FOREVER to read this book. Between NaNoWriMo, Thanksgiving, moving and my husband having to go away for about a month and a half total, I almost never had time to read. And God did I miss it. As soon as I found a chance (and decided to give Doctor Who a break) I jumped straight back into it and was instantly hooked.

My original plan was to read something else.  But after the way Opal ended there's no way in hell I could do that.  I absolutely could not believe what happened at the end of this book and I'm going straight into Origin right after I finish writing this.

The characters, as always, were amazing and easy to fall in love with. Blake pissed me off, Dee broke my heart and Daemon and Katy made me swoon. And finally, FINALLY, they got some yummy scenes. The wait had been driving me nuts.

Speaking of Daemon, we got to see a completely different side to him in Opal. He let the sweet out.  Of course he was still the snarky, arrogant Daemon that we love but we finally got to see more of his heart.

I loved this book and I'm absolutely dying to see what happens in Origin. Plus, Daemon's point of view.  Yay!

GoodReads Summary:
Zeph is a deeply closeted high school student who is much better at dealing with academics than he is with his fellow students. When two jocks who normally ignore him invite him to a party at the lake, he knows something is wrong. They don't take no for an answer and soon Zeph is in much deeper water than he can deal with - literally. He realizes it is time to make some changes when Charles comes to the rescue...

Review:
I really liked the beginning. I felt for Zeph and what his classmates put him through, though the events yet to unfold were pretty obvious. Afterwards, when he met Charles, the story became a little unrealistic and I found myself losing interest in it. The ending is very rushed and not very smart of Zeph.

GoodReads Summary:
Calla Tor wakes up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemy, and she's certain her days are numbered. But then the Searchers make her an offer–one that gives her the chance to destroy her former masters and save the pack–and the man–she left behind. Is Ren worth the price of her freedom? And will Shay stand by her side no matter what? Now in control of her own destiny, Calla must decide which battles are worth fighting and how many trials true love can endure and still survive.

Review:
Wolfsbane starts off pretty much right where Nightshade ended. We're thrown back into the world of Calla and the destruction that has followed all of her decisions.

There's a lot more action in this book versus romance. A lot of fighting, bloodshed, and all out war. We learn a lot more about the Searchers, the pasts of the characters, and the role that Shay really plays in the story. There are a lot of betrayals and past secrets being revealed.

Overall, the book is very well written and holds it's own as the second in a series. It's more violent but given the context, the violence fits. It you've read Nightshade, you have to read this one.

GoodReads Summary:
Every flame begins with a spark.
Ashline Wilde is having a rough sophomore year. She's struggling to find her place as the only Polynesian girl in school, her boyfriend just cheated on her, and now her runaway sister, Eve, has decided to barge back into her life. When Eve's violent behavior escalates and she does the unthinkable, Ash transfers to a remote private school nestled in California's redwoods, hoping to put the tragedy behind her.
But her fresh start at Blackwood Academy doesn't go as planned. Just as Ash is beginning to enjoy the perks of her new school - being captain of the tennis team, a steamy romance with a hot, local park ranger - Ash discovers that a group of gods and goddesses have mysteriously enrolled at Blackwood, and she's one of them. To make matters worse, Eve has resurfaced to haunt Ash, and she's got some strange abilities of her own.
With a war between the gods looming over campus, Ash must master the new fire smoldering within before she clashes with her sister one more time...
And when warm and cold fronts collide, there's guaranteed to be a storm.
Review:
I was crazy hyped about Wildefire before it even came out. After reading great reviews for it, talking to author Karsten Knight, participating in Twitter parties, and everything else I could do to learn more about this book, I was horribly in need of it. I entered every giveaway I could find, never won, so when it came out, I basically hounded my husband to take me to the store so that I could buy it. My husband was going to pick it up for me on his way home from work one night, but of course, the store was sold out. Great for Karsten Knight, bad for Darcus Murray. We then headed for the nearest Wal-Mart, and lucky for me, they had one copy left. I was so ecstatic. (Except for standing in line for fourty-five minutes. It was terrible that night!)

So I just finished reading Wildefire. I have to say that it lived up to the crazy image of it that I had in my head. Right off we're introduced to the protagonist, Ashline Wilde. In the very first chapter, she's angry, violent, and seemingly out of control. I read a lot of reviews beforehand, and this chapter seemed to turn a lot of people off. There were a lot of nasty reviews about how Ashline is such an angry, violent, takes-no-shit-from-anyone character. I'm going to admit that this was one of the characteristics of Ashline Wilde that I loved the most. A lot of the female protagonists in the books that I read are quiet, goody-goody, only goes off when she is in imminent danger girls. I don't mind this at all, so don't get me wrong. But Ash's bad-assery was fresh and exciting and fit the novel and her character well. If she was any different, she wouldn't have been Ash, the Polynesian volcano goddess. It worked for her and the novel.

Aside from her characteristics, this book had a lot going for it. I couldn't get enough. When I was halfway through it, my husband picked it up. He then read...and read...and read. He ended up finishing the book before I did, basically went crazy asking if we could go buy the next book. He then went even more nuts when I informed him that it hasn't even been published yet. He shoved the book in my face and insisted that I finish it because he could hardly hold back and wanted to talk to me about the ending.

Well, I finished the book today. And that ending that he was so crazy over...oh my goodness. He was absolutely right. The cliffhanger at the end was insane and makes your mind go nuts wondering what the hell is going to happen in Embers and Echoes. Wildefire was amazing and the insane, loveable, funny author of it, has a book that lives up to it's reputation and proves how well he writes. I (and my husband) cannot wait for the next installment.

Review: Untamed by P.C. & Kristin Cast

Title: Untamed

*I borrowed this book from a friend.

GoodReads Summary:
Life sucks when your friends are pissed at you. Just ask Zoey Redbird – she’s become an expert on suckiness. In one week she has gone from having three boyfriends to having none, and from having a close group of friends who trusted and supported her, to being an outcast. Speaking of friends, the only two Zoey has left are undead and unMarked. And Neferet has declared war on humans, which Zoey knows in her heart is wrong. But will anyone listen to her? Zoey's adventures at vampyre finishing school take a wild and dangerous turn as loyalties are tested, shocking true intentions come to light, and an ancient evil is awakened in PC and Kristin Cast's spellbinding fourth House of Night novel.

Review:
I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. After reading the first three House of Night novels, I really liked this one because it seemed like it took the series down a more mature path. In Untamed, it’s noticeable that the characters are growing up. They haven’t really grown up in the getting older sense, but by the situations they have faced and the hardships they’ve gone through in a few short months.

In another true sense of maturing and growing, this novel, as well as the last, have gotten more intense and sexual. I’m not saying that a novel has to be sexual for me to enjoy it, but to me it makes the characters seem more realistic. What teenager doesn’t deal with lust, envy, and…well, sex. The majority of today’s youth are losing their virginities while in their teenage years. Zoey is a little bit of a goody-goody, but she shows the vulnerable sides a lot of teenage girls have to face and fight to control. Boys. And boy, is she vulnerable…

This novel also starts to put the series in a darker light. With evil hidden in secrecy, death upon more death, and bloody, gruesome acts of violence, things are getting more serious…and dangerous. It draws the reader in and makes them wonder ‘just what the hell is going to happen?’.

All in all, this novel was definitely better than the last and even better than the one before it. The House of Night series is one that is quick and easy to read. My husband and I have sped through these books with an intensity like no other, and we both have come to the same conclusion. We cannot stop reading them. And we both agree that the more books we read, the better the series gets. So if you’re not particularly fond of the first novel, Marked at least give the second a try. Both of thought the first was a little shaky, but now we can’t put the books down.

Memorable Quotes:
“We gotta keep you alive, Zoey. Not just ‘cause we love you more than white bread, but ‘cause you have to save the world.”
“Fear and bigotry are bred from isolation and ignorance.”

It isn't long before Jessica discovers she's gotten more than she bargained for. She finds out exactly who's in control as she learns how the professor likes to play. A whole new world of BDSM is opened up to her and being a bad girl never felt so good.
Review:
I've always loved erotica and the sexuality that lay between the pages. I've always been a sucker for Harlequin books and contemporary romance. I do admit that there have always been certain types of erotica that I usually stayed away from. BDSM was always one of those. After reading Fifty Shades of Grey, however, I've found myself searching out any book like it.

Taking Instruction was a short read and served it's purpose. I enjoyed the book and only had a couple of problems with it.

Overall, the book was pretty well written and I enjoyed the short read. I wasn't too fond of the ending though, as it seemed too quick and happily-ever-after-esque. I do think fans of BDSM erotica will enjoy Taking Instruction and should give it a chance.

I saw the cover for this book book a while ago and honestly, I was immediately attracted to it. I wanted to read this book pretty badly. I mean, c'mon, you can't tell me that that cover isn't hot and doesn't make you want to see who the hell these Vincent boys are.

I have to say that the book was pretty good. The storyline was great and I loved the idea of the characters. It seemed to move a little fast at times, but not enough to bother me. The only real thing that I didn't like about the book was that there were quite a few spelling errors. Too many for a finished copy to have.

Spelling aside, the book was good and I'm going to get the second one as soon as I possibly can.

GoodReads Summary:
Your heart misleads you.
That's what my friends and family say.

But I love Noah.
And he loves me.

We met and fell in love in the sleepy farming community of Meadowview, while we rode our horses together through the grassy fields and in those moments in each other's arms.

It should be

ROSE & NOAH

forever, easy.

But it won't be.

Because he's Amish.
And I'm not.
Review:
I'm very big into Young Adult Contemporary Romance and very much into forbidden love stories so I was immediately attracted to this book.

As I began reading, I got into it quickly and didn't want to put it down. The story is very well written and very knowledgeable (that's a weird word, knowledgeable...) on the Amish culture and way of life.

I really enjoyed reading this book and did not want to put it down. I didn't think it would take me as long as it did, but I had a lot of stuff going on at the time. I found out that I was six weeks pregnant, so I had to do all the first time prenatal things that accompany early pregnancy.

So I didn't get as much time to read as I would have liked but I thoroughly enjoyed the book and can't wait to read the next one.
