I think it's absolutely insane that books are banned. I have always been a lover of books, even as a young child, and I never could understand the censorship of the written word. I firmly believe that it's every parents and persons right to decide what is appropriate for their children or themselves but banning a book is straight up wrong in my opinion. As a parent of two small children that are already in love with books, it's my job to decide what is appropriate for them based on their age and maturity level, but I would never, in a million years, try to tell other people what they can and cannot read.
I remember when everyone was going insane about the Harry Potter books and parents and churches and people left and right were burning them! One of my friends was a victim of this. Her stepdad found out that she had the books and took them out back and burned them. I could not believe something so insane was happening at that time. It was like we had just been shipped back to a different time period or something where our townsfolk stitched letter A's to our chest. Banning books, in my opinion, is disgusting and archaic. No one should be told they don't have the right to read a book based on someone else's opinions of said book.
Aaaanyways... let's get to what you really came here for, shall we? :)
