Review: Beastly by Alex Flinn

Beastly

Title: Beastly
Author: Alex Flinn
Series:
Version Reviewed:  Finished, eBook.

GoodReads Summary:
A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright--a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever--ruined--unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.
When the movie first came out, I admittedly had no idea that it was based on a book until a friend of mine informed me so. We went on a double date to the movies and I really enjoyed it. Ever since, I've wanted to get my hands on the book. I finally got my chance to read it and dove right in.

I had no idea, but thought it was really neat that Kyle/Adrian is really a “beast” in the literal sense of the term in the book and not just an “unattractive” guy like in the movie. Fur, claws, the whole deal.

The book was really good and I enjoyed it immensely. It was written really well and I loved the chat room inserts, very entertaining.
Definitely one I would read again and I can’t wait to read Bewitching.

Memorable Quotes:
"A beautiful thing is precious, no matter the price. Those who do not know how to see the precious things in life will never be happy."
Favorite Character:  Kyle and Magda.
Rating:  4 Stars.
