I absolutely love this book! There was nothing not to love about it. I had been DYING for this book since the moment I heard about it. Eventually, I had to go buy a copy and of course, as always, my husband got to it before I did. The entire time he was dying to tell me everything about it and once I started reading, he kept asking if he could tell me how it ended.

We both agreed that Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children is nothing like either of us thought it would be. But that doesn't make it bad. The idea I had in my head was creepier and scarier, but the book did not disappoint me at all. It's one of the highest on my list and honestly, I have to say that one of the reasons of that is because of the photographs. All of them were very interesting and creepy in their own way. I found myself staring at each of them for a few moments, getting a feel for them, investigating them, and admiring their peculiarity. The coolest thing of all...they real. Ransom Riggs actually based the entire book around the odd photographs he had found as well as ones his fellow collectors shared. Honestly, his odd collection and hobby made me curious about all the weird photos I might stumble upon if I actually looked through the bins of photographs and stuff at thrift stores/flea markets. It might turn into an odd hobby for myself and my husband.

The characters in the book are very well written and created. I loved them. (As I've already said, I love everything about the book). The characters are curious, loveable, and very easy to understand and get infatuated with.

Even though the book was not what I expected, I loved it, the writing style, the setting, the entire storyline. It was one that I had NEVER read or heard of before and it kept me guessing and wanting more. My husband and I both are extremely excited that a second book is in the works. (My husband actually started cussing at the end and demanded the author write a second novel).

I highly, HIGHLY, recommend this book.
