GoodReads Synopsis:
There are some things you can't leave behind…

In If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch, a broken-down camper hidden deep in a national forest is the only home fifteen year-old Carey can remember. The trees keep guard over her threadbare existence, with the one bright spot being Carey's younger sister, Jenessa, who depends on Carey for her very survival. All they have is each other, as their mentally ill mother comes and goes with greater frequency. Until that one fateful day their mother disappears for good, and two strangers arrive. Suddenly, the girls are taken from the woods and thrust into a bright and perplexing new world of high school, clothes and boys.
Now, Carey must face the truth of why her mother abducted her ten years ago, while haunted by a past that won't let her go… a dark past that hides many a secret, including the reason Jenessa hasn't spoken a word in over a year. Carey knows she must keep her sister close, and her secrets even closer, or risk watching her new life come crashing down.
This book...oh, this book. It's one of those books for me that really rattles me so much while I"m reading that since I've finished, I don't know how I feel or what to say about it. It's definitely one of those stories that gives me a book hangover.

If I had to say only one thing for this book, it would be 'Read it as soon as you can'. I honestly couldn't put it down. I read it really quickly and thought about it when I wasn't sinking into it's words.

The book is really well written, the characters broken and telling in a way that makes you feel for them instantly and the story is one that stays with you, sucks you in, keeps you there and then haunts you when you're finished.

I would actually really like to see this as a movie.

Rating: 5 Stars.
Character: Carey.
