The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 17th and runs through Sunday, August 23rd in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 14 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team |
And here we are on day six of the readathon. I swear, it's going by suuuuper fast! I can't believe how fast it's flown by. Today's challenge was quite nice and I enjoyed it a lot. :)
Hosted by Steph In Wonderland
For this challenge, come up with a list of the top 4-5 states/places you'd love to visit and find a book (you either read or want to read) that takes place in that state/place or a book by an author who lives or is from there.
There's only one place on this list that I have already been to but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve to be on this list. New Orleans has always had a place in my heart and the two times that I've been there were for medical purposes for my daughter and I never got to really experience it. So, now that that's out of the way, here's my list:
- The Rainbow Singer by Simon Kerr (Ireland)
- The Tales of Beetle The Bard by JK Rowling (England)
- Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (Forks, Washington)
- Marigny Street by Annie Rose Welch (New Orleans)
- Wildefire by Karsten Knight (Author lives in Boston, Massachusetts)
