Hey guys! So I know it's already the 5th of Novemeber (Happy Guy Fawkes Day!) but I really wanted to share with you my birthday celebration!
As some of you may now know, my birthday is on Halloween and I absolutely LOVE this because Halloween also happens to be my favorite holiday. I wanted to share this birthday post right after it was over but I wasn't able to. I had some posts planned that desperately needed to go up and honestly, since November began, I feel like I've been busier than ever. So better late than never. Here's a recap of my amazingly awesome day! And keep an eye out because there's giveaway at the bottom of the post!
So the birthday celebratin' actually began the night before. I'm normally a pasta person but we went to Olive Garden for my mother's birthday so I decided that I wanted a big ole juicy steak. And that's exactly what I got. We went to Outback and it was absolutely amazingly delicious. Notice how large my food is compared to my husbands? Haha. I pulled out the big guns for this steak.
Also, little tip: If you go to Outback, try the Wallaby Darned drink. It's soooooo good.
Afterwards, we did some shopping and then went to a 10 PM showing of Goosebumps. My husband and I loved how there were only about ten people in the theater and every single one of us were adults. There were literally no children seeing this movie. lol.
The next morning, the day of my actual birthday, we got together with everyone as a family and had breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I absolutely love Cracker Barrel but my husband says it an "old person restaurant" so we don't go very often. But he had to go because it was my birthday and my choice. Muahahaha. :) I had the delicious Smokehouse Breakfast and I couldn't get enough of their apple cider.
After breakfast my husband surprised me by taking me to the mall. He had called a day or two before and set up an appointment for me to get my hair cut which is something I had been wanting to do for a while. Afterwards we got a couple of things from Bath & Body Works and some candles from Yankee Candles (thanks lady behind us in line for helping us get $50 worth of free candles!).
We returned home around 2:30 to get our little monster ready for a Halloween party that our apartment management was putting on for the kids. It was so cute. They had pizza, cupcakes, candy bags for the kids, games and costumes. I loved it.
We then returned home for a bout an hour to wait until it was time to go trick-r-treating. We were shocked to find that we were like the only people in our apartment complex going around for candy. My cousin and his girlfriend and their daughter went around with us but there were literally no other kids going around. It was crazy. Turns out there were only about 10 people in our area handing out candy. That turned out in their favor though because, with the shortage of trick-r-treaters, most people let them take most of the candy in their bowls (a few even let them take ALL of it). So they still made out with a butt ton of candy.
When our little candy monsters were all tired out and their buckets were bursting with sweets, we retired back to our apartment. Everyone came over to officially celebrate my birthday with pizza, Casper, Halloweentown, cake, candy and homemade Butter Beer (which I will be doing a post on later). We didn't have any number 6 candles so my husband cleverly improvised. He picked out my cake, by the way, and it was seriously one of the best cakes I've ever had. It was chocolate-y and cream cheese-y and so fucking delicious. I told him that we're going to have to go buy another one just because.
After everyone left for the night, we all go in our jammies and cuddled on the couch to finish watching some family Halloween movies.
My birthday celebration ended the next morning (Nov. 1st). I still had a coupon for some free birthday pancakes at IHOP so we had to go cash in on those babies before they expired. :)
Also, for my birthday, my husband got me the new Illustrated Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone and the Hogwart's Library book set. Two things that I've been dying for since they were released.
Overall, my birthday was absolutely amazing. I cannot even begin to tell you how happy it made me and how much fun I had. It was the best birthday I have ever had. Everything was 100% perfect.
.....
